Mr. James Davis Storey, age 58, 160 Agnes Street, Rome, passed away Sunday morning, February 17, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Storey was born in Floyd County on February 21, 1949, son of the late John Davis "Skinny" Story and the late Pearlie Mae Highfield Story. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John L. Storey. Mr. Storey was employed with the Local #926 Operating Engineers and was a member of the First Assembly of God here in Rome. He was a former member of the Lindale Lodge #455 F. & A. M., was a member of the Northwest Georgia Amateur Radio Club, and the Georgia Army MARS.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rondalynn June Brooks, to whom he was married on March 27, 1970; a son, Cain Joshua Storey, Rome; 4 sisters, Mrs. Willie Fisher, Armuchee, Mrs. Rebecca Vinson, Jackson, TN, Ms. Watha Barton, Rome, and Mrs. Debbie Ashley, Silver Creek; 2 brothers, Danny F. Story, Silver Creek, and Phil Storey, Rome; nieces, nephews and his canine friend "Baby" also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 8pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:30pm and include: J. G. Ashley, Gene Ely, Tony Barton, Danny Wayne Storey, Scott Storey, Donald Ray Fisher, Jr., David Barton, and Phil Storey, Jr.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
